The Power of Abstract

The abstract of visuals can be seen as white noise to viewers that experience the different side of what their visual stimuli from every day modern and historical immerses them.

The abstract elements in art can be arguably going against everything the Principles of Design and Foundations of Design itself.

But there are some attributes that pay homage towards the elements that make up art.

Abstraction can pull from the elements of line, colour, emphasis and movement. Artists who incorporate the building blocks of art can argue that abstraction is simply defying the very existence of the principles itself. The beauty of abstraction is that rules can be bent and when it comes to photography, the artist can fully control the outcomes and environment completely.

From my photography, I use this medium of art to my advantage related to Heather Day's art. Heather Day is a painter based out of San Francisco who creates art using the concept of urban decay. Her art is created from the constant malleability of the physical and spiritually space around us.

There is a strong evident form of art in the way that things around us constantly in a changing state. This is an example of movement - in between the lines - which correlates to abstraction.

I bring movement in between the line as a concept into the way I view the world, and the art happening around me. There is a process of creating a art that evokes a strong questioning of purpose itself. The photographs I produce question the things that happen in between the lines of movement and noise that happens in our every day lives.

I view the world as a constant flow of a force that can be malleable and transformable. The nature of my art is a constant flow of functional movement that contributes to my body of work. The power of imagery can be translated into photographs through a means of getting ones audience to experience and feel the art for what it truly is.

When you take a look at my work, you can get a sense of emotion that provokes feelings of uncertainty and unknowns. It is a entry point into the way that I view the world through my eye. Introspectively there is fuel to my work from the daily colours, sights, sounds, smells and sources of lighting that I experience on a daily basis.

Through meditation and music I find the motives to create something for myself and for others.
